Hi,

The variable h (the convective heat transfer coefficient) is defined relative to a reference temperature. CFX has to get a value for this reference temperature from somewhere - if it is not specified it has a guess based on the local flow field.

Most h values reported in the literature are referenced to an inlet or ambient temperature. To make the values in CFX comparable to the literature you therefore need to set the reference temperature to the appropriate temperature and you do it using the "htc for tbulk" expert parameter.
