Try areaAve(yplus)@wall as the Monitor Point. Don't forget to change to expression.

Good luck!

cfdguy: Have you tested your recommendation? I have tried this exact method and gotten an error in Pre. I have also tried creating a dummy monitor point and then changing the expression using "edit run in progress" once the solver is running and also gotten an error.

If in fact this is working for other people then I would like to figure what I may be doing wrong.

That's it, as I stated.

MONITOR POINT: yplusHood

Expression Value = areaAve(yplus)@box chimney

Option = Expression

END

Are you sure guys you're running a turbulent case?

Cheers!

Interesting ... and, yes, always running turbulence.

Next run I start, I'll try it again. Just speculating here, but I notice you listed 'yplus' whereas I've tried 'Yplus' and gotten errors, possibly that's the difference. Although 'Yplus' is the variable name listed in the documentation.

Ohh yes, the variables are case sensitive. If you look into the CFX installation dir under /etc subdir you'll find a VARIABLES file. Check inside and you'll find the correct names used by the solver.

Yplus is used by POST, I think.
