Free surface B.C. and I.C.

Hello,

I would be glad if anyone could help me defining b.c. and i.c at a transient free surface air-water problem (flow in wavetank).

According to tutorial 7 I've understood how to define the volume fraction of air/water at the inlet and at the entire domain as I.C.

how can I define a velocity profile for the inlet (with CEL)?? is it possible to be funtion of time?

how can I define initial velocity field for entire domain?

Thanks!

John

hey with MyVelocity*ctstep you can make it a function of time when MyVelocity is your expression for the profile.

hi,

maybe this is better for you. http://www.cfd-online.com/Forum/cfx_....cgi/read/8958

once you have your "profile"... choose your function by which the profile should vary and simply replace the "t" in your time-function with "ctstep" add it as CEL. Et voilá.
