free surface initial conditions

Hi,

Can anyone please explain how to define initial wave profile (I know I should set volume fraction at CEL..my question is how to implement it as CEL)

Moreover I would like to how to define initial velocity field to the problem (only to water phase).

Thanks, John

Hi,

You can define a simple volume fraction function as a function of space and define a wave and let the simulation sort it out from there but it is not very realistic.

If you want a real wave profile with all the internal flow details you need to do a initial simulation which generates the wave you want, possibly from a volume of liquid splashing down.
