Hi.
I'm new to CFX and need some help with my meshing. My geometry is a horizontal pipe (d=45mm, L=400mm) with a 90 degree bend. I want to simulate particle sedimentation in the bend. How should i mesh my geometry? Doe's anyone have suggestions to best mesh a circular pipe with finer mesh in the bend section? |

Hi.
Thank you for the suggestion. I use CFX-mesh. I tried to follow the manual in CFX-help for the 2D Extruded meshing, but i got the following error message: "No boundary edge found. The surface may be highly curved dand mesh resolution may be poor. Try reducing the mesh spacing on the problem surface and retry (it is the my horizontal pipe that is marked red). As i can see my body and face spacings should be ok. I've used the inflation option and inlet/outlet as the extruded periodic pair (location 1 and 2). Under the Option tab in Tree viev i use "Delaunay" under Surface Meshing, "Full" under D Extrusion Option, a uniform distribution and I have changed the "Number of layers". |

hi,
cut your model by half. so you get a leading edge. that should work. |
