Influence of including viscous dissipation
Hi all
I am modelling a HVAC case including heat load from 150 people. Under the Heat Transfer I can include Viscous Dissipation which not has been activated for my simulations. My question is then if this not are incorrect and should be activated? Kind regards Michael |
Hi,
I do not think you need to activate that option for your application. |
Hi pratikmehta
thanks for your reply. I have run two simulataions one where it was activate and another where it was't. I could not see any difference in the result. So I think it will be ignore as you also think. kind regards michael |
Hi,
You should try to understand what the buttons mean before you turn them on and off. Viscous dissipation in heat transfer is heat generation due to viscous action, like what you get with an oil film in strong shear. So yes, you can be confident for HVAC applications this is not a significant effect and can be left off. Glenn Horrocks |
