help about mesh deformation ?
 
hi everyone
i have successfully modeled a mixing tank and its rotating blade
but can u tell me
( how can i see the rotation of the rotating wall(blade) visible in cfx-post ?)
i mean i need to see how can i have that defined rotating wall animated in cfx-post?
all i have here (in cfx-post) is an stationary blade that has no motion and i am really confused!
should i define mesh deformation or something?
please tell me what do i need?

You need to simulate the model as transient and then use the animation features to see the blade rotation.

Hi,

As hamed said - if the blade rotates it will be much better to simulate it using a rotating frame of reference rather than deforming mesh. Why are you using deforming mesh?

No you wont have to use deforming mesh. Animation can be done in CFX-Post. Transient simulation and Animations are covered in CFX tutorials.

do u mean that i need to model the blade and the tank together and then define 2 domain?all i alredy have is a tank that the blade is cuted out of that and i defined a fluid domain so defined a rotating wall boundry
that contains the blade and a stationary wall boundry that contains the tank,s wall
can u explaine how can i have a rotating frame ?(i am new to cfx)

Can you describe how it works? I assume the impeller rotates and the big tank is stationary. In that case cut a cylinder around the impeller and put the impeller in a rotating frame of reference, the tank in a stationary frame of reference. Connect them with a GGI.

i think i have got what you mean >>!:)
i modeled the problem again and solved that whit a rotating domain which is a cylender that the blade is cuted out of that but steal i cant see the motion in cfx-post

this is a tank which has a to plade impller that rotats whith speed of 15 rpm and i need to sudy the dissipation of water affected by the impller

Hi,

That's more like it. Have a look at the tutorial examples, especially the rotating frame of reference ones - there is a turbine one and might be some others (don't have CFX in front of me so can't be sure).

Also consider whether a frozen rotor approach is adequate for you. If it is it will save heaps of time. Otherwise a full transient rotor/stator is required and that can take ages.
