CFX Boundary Conditions

--------------- Urgent ---------------

Please it is very urgent, I ask you if it is someone who know how to introduce a boundary condition in CFX .
I have a type outlet boundary but it need 08 values of pressure
In this boundary pressure is variable, (there is 06 values of pressure)

Thank you very much

Hi,

Firstly if you need urgent help talk to your ANSYS CFX support person. You pay them so you can get urgent help. This forum helps you when we feel like it and the question is interesting enough to be worth answering.

But I don't understand what you are asking anyway. Sounds like you need to do some basic tutorials in CFX. Maybe a CEL expression as a pressure boundary condition will do what you are talking about?

Hi Glenn, I am completely new to CFX as previously I was exploring around with fluent and now I am required to use CFX. I am doing simulations on 2-D airfoil with interest in surface roughness. Previously I have managed to mesh out in GAMBIT and I am wondering whether CFX would accept mesh genenerated by GAMBIT and is there any additional steps required before I export the mesh to solve in CFX. From Fluent, I am able to get the lift and drag coefficient directly from the output, so I am wondering if CFX would be able to do that as well since my main objective is to compare the CL and CD values with experimental results. Please advice. Many thanks!

Hi,

CFX can read gambit meshes.

CFX can be made to output the forces on a surface. It is then a simple function to get CL and CD from there.

bit late to reply, anway...

Although CFX can accept GAMBIT mesh, it doesn't accept any surface mesh (2D Mesh).
