a need of help
 
hi, every body.

i am working on my graduation project and we are trying to build an ospery so i am the one in charge of simulating it on ansys 11. could any one plz show me how to simulate a rotor of a helicopter in the turbo mode. thx

Well it would be difficult for someone to explain everthing out here. Instead you could go through the tutorial - Flow in an Axial Rotor/Stator which decribes setting up of a problem in turbo mode.

Thank you very much sans , and i've already read that tutorial but it wasn't helpful enough so i was looking for any tutorials on helicopters simulated on ansys .

Hi,

I don't know of any tutorials available on helicopters. I recommend doing the other CFX tutorials so you get familiar with the software. Even better, go to some CFX training.

hi, i managed to create a case on the cfx by creating 2 domains ; a solid domain which is the propeller and the other is the boundary regions which is a cylinder, and meshing it and solving it . But the results were so frustrating because it seems there is no interaction between the two domains and the velocity of air coming out of the propeller is too small although it runs with 2000 rpm. please i need help because the time of my graduation is so near.thank you.

Hi,

For the flow around a helicopter you don't need a solid region for the blades. Just put a void in the mesh of the rotating domain containing the blades. Then make a second stationary domain containing the helicopter fuselage and the surrounding air and connect the two with a GGI. You can probably use stage averaging if you don't care about the detailed interaction between the passing blades and the fuselage.

As previously mentioned the tutorial example on Axial flow rotor/stator is a good place to start. You should be able to generalise the concepts from that.
