Wall Heat Transfer Coefficient

hello
can anybody tell me, how CFX is calculating the wall heat transfer coefficient. Is it different from the following relation
h=Q/(wall temperature-Bulk Temperature)
where Q= heat flux
h= heat transfer coeff.
thank you..

Hi,

Yes, that is correct. Note that by default CFX locally calculates the Bulk Temperature so it is not constant. If you want to compare the h from CFX to literature values you will probably have to use the expert parameter to fix the Bulk Temperature to a value.

Thank you very much Glenn

Is this for transient or steady state regime?
