hello
can anybody tell me, how CFX is calculating the wall heat transfer coefficient. Is it different from the following relation
h=Q/(wall temperature-Bulk Temperature)
where Q= heat flux
h= heat transfer coeff.

Hi,

Yes, that is correct. Note that by default CFX locally calculates the Bulk Temperature so it is not constant. If you want to compare the h from CFX to literature values you will probably have to use the expert parameter to fix the Bulk Temperature to a value.
