How to generate a turbulent inflow for wind turbine at inlet

Hello Guys:

I am right now doing a project about Wind Turbine (WT). As we konw the wind turbine is usually located in the region where the wind is strong fluctuated (turbulence).

Therefore, I need to simulate this phenomen which i should generate a turbulent inflow (without the boundary layer, that will be much more complicated) at inlet boundary.

Anyone knows how to generate the turbulent inflow?

Thanks a lot

question is how you want to model it, are you considering to model a wind farm or optimize a single wind turbine... the aproach is quite different as surely you must realize... :)

in my view if its a wind farm you're trying to model, calculating turbulence for the inlet makes little sense you might as well use the 10% intensity if the speed is quite high

if its a single wind turbine optimization ( or blade optimization), decide which turbulence model you will/have to use and look in the manual/textbooks how to calculate the coefficients.
