Before you post a question please read this
This forum is to discuss issues about the CFD software CFX. Other CFD software, including issues regarding geometry and mesh generation, should be posted to forums relevant to that software. Note that ANSYS-Fluent and ANSYS-CFX are different software, the Fluent forum is here: Here is the link to the ANSYS Geometry and Meshing forum

To ensure the information on this forum is of high quality please consider the following before placing a post on this forum:

Have you read the documentation? The CFX documentation is quite thorough and detailed for most issues. It can be a little hard to find what you are looking for but most basic questions are covered in the documentation.

Have you done the tutorial problems? CFX comes with a range of tutorial simulations to show how various types of simulations are done. If you are doing a new simulation this is the first place to look for ideas of how the simulation is done.

Include enough detail in your question. Put pictures in your post to describe what you mean, include the CCL file and/or the output file and fully describe what you are trying to do. If we don't know what you want to do it will be hard for us to help.

Remember, nobody is paid to answer questions on this forum. People answer questions because they like to help people so help yourself by posting a well written, thought out and interesting question. You will get a much better response that way! The CFD-Online administrator has posted an excellent guide for how to write good questions for the forum here.

Happy posting!

Here are some more resources. Before posting a new thread is your question covered in any of these?

Please do not "Private Message" me with general questions about CFX, CFD or fluid mechanics as I will not reply. General questions should be posted on the forum.

I will only respond to private messages which are in fact private, such as questions about me personally, my publications or moderation requests.

And thanks to those people who posted generous messages to me on this post, it is much appreciated. Regretfully I have removed the posts to keep this thread short and on topic.

One of our forum regulars, Far, has produced an extensive list of tutorials. Currently they are focussed on meshing using the ANSYS tools, but if you ask him nicely he might do some for CFX and post processing as well :)
