Fatnes is on a distinguished road
Hi.

I have a horizontal pipe with a 90 degree bend pointing upwards. I want to create a particle bed in the horizontal section with a certain height and particle concentration (in the bed). I will then inject water at low velocity and see how the bed is beeing thinner and thinner as the velocity increases.

Is this possible to do in CFX?

Afterwards I will distribute the particles in the water at the inlet and study how they will settle in the pipe bend.

Regards
Eirik

Hi,

Look at the fluidised bed modelling capabilities in CFX. Yes, it can be done but it requires care to get good results.
