How to set Temperature as heat source in Solids

Hi
I am a new user of CFX and will be very thankful if can help in a very simple problem.
I have a solid Rod of radius 1.2 mm and length 2mm with temperature about 3000k. Argon is flowing around the rod and simulation is required to see the temperature rise in Argon. I tried to follow the tutorial "Conjugate heat transfer in a Heating Coil" but I know the temperature and not the energy source.
How to apply temperature in my case?

Regards
Shahid

hi

i think u need a mesh as atmosfear wich the rod that u mentiond about is cuted away so u have somthing like a qube wich has a hol on it.
now u can set temp on the inside wall(wall of rod wich is not there)
u sould set the inlet of argon and an outlet
and it is nothing to worry about because thats a pice of cake and such an easy problem shuldent make u confuse

This is straightforward. If you know the temperature of the rod then you don't need to model it. Model the fluid region with a cutout for the the heating rod. Put a specified temperature of 3000K on the rod and other boundaries to generate the rest of the flow. This is a straightforward single domain simulation.

I think that is what hamed was trying to say but I couldn't make most of it out.
