I was running some simulation with a timestep of 0.05s and a total time of 30s. There is particle injection in the domain with a 20/s number rate.
Everything was fine except that each individual particle has only 10 seconds of data. For example particle number 1 would have data for 0-10 second but from t=10.05 on there's no data for it in both res file and the trk file. Running on win7 ansys 13 and 14. Any help would be appreciated. |

Check you have set a particle termination time or life time.

Dear colleagues
I have worked on " water spray for cooling hot gas" based on particle tracking and using ANSYS CFX. But I got into trouble. I was faced with the problem that how I can model particle-collision. As you may know, particle-collision may result in coalescence and bouncing according to "We" number and.. . But it seems that the Summerfield model which is available on ANSYS CFX is not possible to apply to fluid-particles collision. I would be so thankful if you could help me resolve the problem. Best Regards |

You might be able to do this with a particle user routine. Otherwise you might need to model the particles and liquid drops in a DEM software.

Hi,
you r using 20/s parcels with 0.05 sec time step. so u r using 1 particle for each time step. it is better to have more than one partial per time step. Just try it. This is not ezxact soln for ur prob. just try and inform here. |
