I simmulated a rotating runner and i want to measure torque. my querry is at what location this torque need to measure.
I used function calculator for torque.it ask for location. My logic says at blade tip Torue will bw maximaum but how to measure and justify result. I am expecting reply frpm Glenn |

The wall shear and pressure act on surfaces and generate a net force and torque on the surfaces. Neither force or torque exist at a point. So what are you asking?

Thanks Glenn
i preapre a model of wind turbine using frozen rotor concept in wind tunnel.i use turbomachines option in which stationary part i defined tunnel and rotating part i defined frozen rotor. simmulation gives the reult like pressure, velocity etc around the rotor and inside rotor flow domain. now my problem is to measure torque generated by this rotating body. In function calculator option "Torque" is available but it is asking for location!!! i used location as hub, blade, outersurface of rotor flow domain but it is givingg different value and it is but obvious as tourque varies with radius... what you suggest?? |

The "location" is the surface to integrate the torque over.
