CFD-Post needs information about the mesh: try to load the .def file concurrently with the other files.

Dear Opaque, and Lorenzo,
I've tried what you two supposed but it didn't work!! I ran the simulation for just 2 time steps and then save the files. after that I add the .trn files into the time step selector, so I now have access to my data. thanks for the reply. Regards, Mostafa |

Thanks a lot.
The hint with "include mesh" worked =) |

I have the similar problem, and I would like to know, where did you forget "the include mesh" option. Thanks. |

Hi all! I know the thread has been dead for a while, but it is the first result I found when searching for this error, so I think it's worth it to post the solution I found to it.
1- You can include the mesh when setting up your trn results. (if you plan to have a lot of .trn saved this will take a lot of disk space) 2- If you have .trn without mesh and you get the error: you can load a completed run using the same mesh as your .trn, go in the time step selector of CFD Post and add a timestep choosing the .trn file you want to postprocess. Doing so you can also choose .trn withou mesh from simulations that did not generate any .bak or .res file. (you can create a result file also by starting a simulation with 1 iteration) I hope this will help and save some time to the next person stumbling on this topic! S.T. Ticking input mesh files in output control did it for me.
