Default Low Reynolds Number k-epsilon formulation CFX 10.0

Hi All,

I am trying to implement a Low Reynolds number turbulence k-epsilon formulation, in order to compare it to a solution obtained with the SST model, using CFX 10.0. However I can't find anywhere where I can choose a low Reynolds number k-epsilon formulation â€" only the standard k-epsilon is available.

When selecting the standard k-epsilon model it is possible under wall functions to change the y+ value that is set to 11.06 by default. By lowering the value can I then obtain a low Reynolds formulation? â€" Does anyone know what altering the value will mean?

Thanks in advance Regards Chris

I'm not sure but I don't think so. I'm running ANSYS CFX 10.0 I don't know if it is included.

You should know what you have. CFX-Flo is a starter package. What does your license file say? Can you perform a run and have Pre and Post opened simultaneously?

Kim-HM is on a distinguished road
CFX option not shown in GUI, it is able to use by CCL

Clik Edit in Command Editor then CCL window will open

you can see below

TURBULENT WALL FUNCTIONS:
Option = Scable
END

you can use low Re-model on every turbulent model by Scable -> Default

if you want other wall funtions option, search 'turbulent wall functions' on help in CFX
