Gerotor Simulation

Hai buddies, I need to simulate Gerotor pump using ANSYS CFX.
As we need to understand the transient behaviour with a compressible fluid, we have ruled out using immersed bodies technique.
Do anybody have any ideas or previous experience regarding this, please share.

Thanks in advance.

It's very difficult to do this in CFX if immersed solid cannot be used. Frankly I'd recommend you look elsewhere.

Gerotor simulation

We have used the Pumplinx program from Simerics for modeling a gerotor with compressible flow.

I agree with stumpy, if it cannot be done with immersed bodies I would go to a different CFD code.

Why do you say immersed bodies will not work in this application?

Gerotor Simulation

Hai friends, thanks for ur response.

I had a discussion with ANSYS people in Germany, during last CADFEM users meeting regarding usage of immersed solid body technique for Gertor simulation.
And the reply from them is that this technique is not very accurate and not suitable for compressible flow and transient conditions.
But we are interested in understanding its transient behaviour.

It may be a bit easy to do this with Fluent using Dynamic meshing option.

But as I was advised that with some programming we can do this in CFX itself.
