Hi,

Is it possible (and if so how) to save the various plots that are shown in CFX-Solver? I cannot find anything in the help guides.

Thanks.

What do you mean by save? If you mean export the data - then you right click on the graph and export it. If you mean save the layout of the graph - then you save a layout file (I think that is what it is called). If you mean the data contained in the graph - that is contained in the res file as zboud says.

I was meaning saving the plots as images (i.e. jpg) so that I can put them in reports.

Have you tried a screen dump? Press control-print screen and paste it into a graphics application (Paint if you have nothing better)

This is out of date for the current thread, anyways somebody might find it still interesting.

1. Generate comma seperated text files from results or current directory of CFX result. The example below is for output of USER POINT. Other
cfx5mondata -res RESULT.res -varrule "CATEGORY = USER POINT" > mistfile.txt

Other options for result file/dir are
-def <file>
-res <file>
-dir <directory>

Options for varialbes are
-varlist <variable list>
-varlist "RESIDUAL,RMS,U-Mom;RESIDUAL,RMS,V-Mom"

Once this data is in a CSV file, gnuplot can be used to visualize the data in this CSV file.

create a example.plt file like the one below and use GNUPLOT.
set datafile separator ","
set terminal png nocrop enhanced size 1200,1000
set output "test.png"
plot 'mistfile' using 1:2 title "In1", 'mist' using 1:3 title "In2", 'mist' using 1:4 title "Out"
nasir likes this.
