Drag forces on a cylinder

I'm simulating in ANSYS CFX , the flow past a 2D planar cylinder ( of course it is a Dummy 3D problem in CFX.). I've used the following expressions to calculate the Total drag force on the cylinder:

Total drag force = force_x()@cylinder.

Another total drag force =
areaInt(Wall Shear X)@cylinder + areaInt_x(p)@cylinder.

While working with these expressions, which area does CFX consider , the projected area of the cylinder(= Diameter * length) (or) its total surface area ?

It integrates over the surface, using the element faces as the things being summed up. So the areas being summed are the element face areas.
