new license key
 

Hi all.

I have a new ANSYS License Key and I´m trying to update the new license without uninstalling the CFX of my pc. According to the documentation I should use the "Server ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility", however I am receiving the following debug message:

The TCP port number in the license, 1055, is already in use.
15:53:21 (lmgrd) Possible causes:
15:53:21 (lmgrd) 1) The license server manager (lmgrd) is already running for this license.
15:53:21 (lmgrd) 2) The OS has not "cleared" this port since lmgrd died.
15:53:21 (lmgrd) 3) Another process is using this port number (unlikely).
15:53:21 (lmgrd) Solutions:
15:53:21 (lmgrd) 1) Make sure lmgrd and all vendor daemons for this
15:53:21 (lmgrd) license are not running.
15:53:21 (lmgrd) 2) You may have to wait for the OS to clear this port.

I am not being able to fully understand the meaning of the possible solutions. Could someone give me a hint/suggestion please?

The error message is quite clear. Either you already have port 1055 being used by another process or you already have an ANSYS license server running.

Have you tried rebooting?

I have restart the pc and now it seems to work fine.
