For some reason I can only select Discrete Transfer, Rossland, P1, and None for a radiation model. Monte Carlo is not available. Any ideas why? I want to use Monte Carlo.

Thanks!

Can you give some more info on your domains- fluid/solid/porous?

Thanks.

I have a fluid domain - air. On one side of it are 2 solid domains in series. Think soil, concrete, air... I want to use a directional source like tutorial 17 in the manual.

Sincerely,

The Monte Carlo Model is not included in the basic capability solver - you need an additional licence key.

Thanks. That makes perfect sense. Is there any way one could use a directional source with the discrete transfer model ala how Tutorial 17 goes? I am trying to model solar heating of a roadside electronics cabinet.

I appreciate all the responses. Thanks again!

Hi,
I use CFX 10.0 to try the radiation part in tutorial 17. I don't have Mont Carlo model as indicated in the in tutorial. My problem is that I can select the radiation Multiband or P1 model for fluid domain, but I can not create a radiation source for the two windows. (I can not find the add-new-source icon as indicated in the manual). Is there any one can help?

Or, is it possible that the radiation parts not included in the basic license as well? I knew Mont Carlo model need a specific license.

Thanks

Ahlo
