Different results from similar quality cfx and ICEM meshes

Hi all,

I've created two meshes with the same geometry one in cfx and the other in ICEM. The mesh quality in both is nearly the same. However with the one from ICEM I get a floating point error whereas the one created in CFX converges nicely. I don't know what's the deal. Although I set the same Boundary Condition for both cases. Everthing else is exactly the same.
Both are unstructured meshes by the way.

Generally I get a lot of overflow (floating point) errors from ICEM meshes.
Should the boundary conditions be defined in ICEM or is it sufficient to do so in cfx solver *which is what I do after i import from ICEM*. Thanks for any comments in advance.

Assuming there is no error in your ICEM mesh, then your assessment that the mesh quality is almost the same is obviously not correct.

Thanks for the reply. Strangely I get this overflow error message with meshes from ICEM. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The same geometry and boundary conditions for a mesh generated by cfx mesh work fine.

Hello,

In your simulation's .out file there are mesh quality statistics. Try to compare them.
