Hi,

I´m in a project where I have to analyze the Heat Transfer in a duct from the fluid (air) to the duct itself (aluminium). I created with Catia the duct with its thickness and then the inside solid simulating the fluid.

Then, I mesh it together and it seems to be ok. Two differents meshes, one for the fluid and the other for the solid.

My problem appears in the Setup. The conditions are easy: two inlets with air flow and temperature. The outlet to atmospheric pressure.

I define two domains: fluid and solid, previously in the mesh named selections. I leave the domain interface as default. It this my problem?
Because I get an error when I run the solver.

I dont know how the domain interfaces are defined well. Any trick? May I insert the file here to do easier?

Thanks

1) Have you finished the CHT simulation in CFX tutorial ?

2) Brief your problem with an image.what is the error message you got?

Before importing the mesh, uncheck Automatic Default Domain and Automatic Default Interface options (in the outline tree Case Options=>General). Then create the domains and interfaces in CFX Pre. and also be sure that CFX recognizes different 3D Regions of your mesh for creating different domains.

It does. The program recognizes the two differentes 3D regions. I named them, I usually delete the default domain and domain interface and then I insert the new one.

Im not sure about what to define as domain interface. The surface of the fluid domain for the interface side 1 and the inner surface of solid for the side 2?

First select the interface type. then for the interface side 1, select fluid as domain filter and related surface (interface side 1). for the interface side 2 select solid domain as domain filter and select related surface(int. side 2).

I recommend you to read domain interfaces in CFX documentation.

As related surfaces what do you mean? The "external" surface of the fluid and the inner surface of the solid?

I have tried to understand the reading but I get crazy with it

Exactly. I mean you should select the surfaces that constitute the interface.

Sorry for my ignorance but is there any way to select all the inner face of a solid automatically?

This solid has no many surfaces, but its just a little part of a bigger one that has many many surfaces.

I am still with the same problem. I do the setup, an easy setup, but the solver doesnt start.

Its possible to upload the duct.stp in the way of get more help?
