Default How to evaluate solution for inert particle in water

I am modelling inert solid particle (density ~ 950 kg/m3) in water. Domain is tank with inlet at top corner and outlet at opposite bottom corner. Top surface is open to atomisphere and particle leave once it reach to top.

Particles are injected at the inlet ( volume fraction < 1 %). I want to know how much particle fraction is carried away by water at outlet, left thorogh top surface and balnace in tank.

I am trying in CFX & did tutorials needed for the present case ( Flow through butterfly valve, Gas liquid flow in airlift reactor & Coal combustion).

I had used appropriate models to set the case and solved but not able to how to check the balance of particle incoming in system, remain in system and leaving system.

So what is your question? Are you asking how to post-process the results to find where the particles go? Or are you asking how to model this sort of flow? Or that your model is not accurate?

Yes sir I am interested in post processing of results. i want to know distribution of particle preferably volume fraction leaving system and accumulated in system with respect to incoming particles.

Is it possible to get this in terms of particle size distribution ?

Also need fluid and particle distribution along few planes.

This is all straight forward post processing for a particle tracking simulation. This is covered in the tutorials I think.

Do you use a particle tracking model which includes particle size distributions? If yes, then you can sort the particle tracks based on many parameters, including particle size.

As I said, this is all basic post-processing of a multiphase run. It should be pretty obvious.
