pneumatic conveying model
Hi all,

I am desperately trying to gain pressure drop analysis of air carrying solid particles of cement through a 2m pipe of diameter 53mm.

I performed this analysis using ANSYS Fluent and got, what I perceive to be, fairly accurate results (around 1600Pa). However, the results I am getting for CFX simulation is a lot lower (around 200 Pa).

The type of analysis I am performing is Eulerian-Eulerian. The air phase is set up as a continuous fluid and the cement phase is set up as a dispersed solid. The particle size for cement is 25 micron. I have set up the viscosity for cement as kinetic theory in Fluent; in CFX the help menu suggests I give the cement phase an insignificant viscosity and make it free slip at the wall boundary though this gives me a smaller pressure drop than say making the cement viscosity the same as the air viscosity (1.8205e-5).

From what I have mentioned here, is there any sign of error in my method that is disabling me from producing reasonable results?

Any help would be appreciated. I am surprised at how difficult it is to find any details, on how a pneumatic conveying model should be made, online.
