I am modeling the air flow through the passages of a vented brake disc. The model is cut down to a 5 degree section that represents one passage. No matter what I try i.e. stationary vs rotational when the transient solver run is complete I get this error:

The ANSYS CFX solver has terminated without writing a results file.
Command on host ws3148629 (WS314-86-29) exited with return code 0.

What does this mean?

A bit of context would help.

Has the run completed and it given the error at the end? Or did it not even get started?

Yes, the run has completed for each attempt before this error is given at the end of each run.

Did the network go down? Is the hard drive full? Do you have write access?

Hello ! Im facing a similar problem, actually the same. Anybody have a solution to this. Does this happen if the meshing is improper?

I m running CFX analysis on the rotor designed by me,
From scratch, I have designed a rotor, I made a rectangular hollow box which is enclosing the rotor. Then I imported the part from solidworks and then I did named selection in which 2 faces of the box were inlet and outlet and rest faces be the wall, and the rotor is also made a selection. Meshing was done and now in CFX-PRE I declared the boundary conditions to the named selection and then I did the global intialization in which the velocity type was kept Cartesian and Cartesian components automatic.
When i run the solver, it returns an error which states *update failed for solution components in fluid flow, the solver failed with a non-zero exit code
I am not getting any output.
Please help me as soon as possible.

Regards,
Spark Racing Team

The error messages in workbench are not useful. Open the output file and look in there as that is where the useful error messages are displayed.
