Floating body

Hi everybody,

I am dealing with free surface and transient case.
I have to predict the pitch, heave and roll of a water energy conversion.
Does anybody know how to implement the floating of a device on the surface of the water?

Thank you.

CFX support has example files of how to do this. There are several methods.

I found a very useful tutorial in CFX.13 about modeling a buoy using CFX rigid body solver.
For details you can see this link:

However, in my university I have access only to CFX.12 in which this option has not been implemented yet.
How can I overcome this problem?

Forget about implementing this in V12, it is far too complex. Your time would be better spent pushing the IT guys to install the latest version. If your uni has a current TECS license with ANSYS then you are entitled to the software but have not installed it - this sounds like a waste to me, purchasing something which you do not even install.
