how to show the particle deposition spots?

Default how to show the particle deposition spots?

Hi,
I am doing a particle tracking CFD simulation. How can I set up in CFX-post to only show the particle symbols of their final locations (either deposited or flow out of the domain)? I tried everything, adjusting max time, min time, interval etc...

Hello, I have tha same problem!

How can I show only the particles trapped on the wall? And how can I calculate how many particles are trapped?

My simulation is in steady-state and I am using Eulerian-Lagrangian approach.

Hello , i meet the same problem - trap and count particle number, Have you solve the problem, can you help me?

This is just off the top of my head...

1. To show contour plots: You need to follow the ice accretion tutorial. I.e. turn on accretion for paticles. This will allow you to show particles as contour plots, either on walls or on planes.

2.To count the exact number on walls you need to do go to: Results>sample>DPM>select walls. Write to file and then this will have a line count. Count the number of lines either manually, matlab or via a shell script in linux to give you the exact number of particles deposited. (This method gives particle coordinates in x,y,z so you can plot these in matlab if you want too).

Is this really possible in CFX or CFD-Post, respectively? I cannot find any tutorial on ice accretion in the current version of the Ansys package.

Any help to get accretion rates using CFX and CFD-Post would be great.
