I use Ansys 13.0; I have been using it for nearly a month now.
I have a solid cylinder inside which lies a plane (perpendicular to the axis). I have put a named selection on the two circular faces of the cylinder AND to the plane (circular in shape as well) inside the cylinder. I export its mesh and try to load it in a CFX - pre file. All the named selections, except the one of the plane show up. I tried making other changes and all of them show up promptly in the cfx - pre file, except this one named selection. So there is no such problem in loading any other named selections. Only this particular named selection doesnt show up, even while many changes in the others show up.
I have tried remaking the entire mesh file, but still no change.
Is there any way by which I can make this named selection of the plane show up?

the image of the cylinder along with the plane inside (not visible, just edges marked) is shown here:

Hello,

I'm also a novice with ANSYS and have a similar problem. The Named Selection in the inner of a Body isn't shown in CFX Pre.
Was there a solution in this case?

I am using V. 19.0.

If you have a plane in your geometry that is not associated to an, say, outer surface of a body you sometimes have to assign it to a block face manually in order to make it a named region. Use the face to surface association tool to link the block face to the surface part containing the plane.
