export results different time steps

Hi all.
I am doing a transient simulation and I would like to export data from a specific section (a Line) at different timesteps. Can anyone explain me how to do this?It does not seem to be clear how to do this in the documentation.

The easiest way to start is to record a session file where you load the results file, generate the line, export the data and move to the next time step. The edit the session file in a text editor to cycle through all time steps.

A nicer way of doing it is to wrap the session file in a Perl script. If you search the forum you can find examples of scripting CFD-Post.

could you please explain me with more details, the first (easiest) way of doing what i have asked?I have tried to google it and to search on the forum how to do it...but to be honest i am not very familiar with this part of post-processing.

Try the CFD-Post documentation and tutorials. There are also some further tutorials on the ANSYS Community site (www.ansys.com).

But it is really easy, just record a session file and have a look at the resulting file. That is the best way to start.

Hi.
I went to the session tab, then i have clicked in new session and finally in start recording...but it`s not working (not giving me what i want). I have already results (for t=200s). I just want to check/export the values of the simulation for other simulation times...did i made anything wrong?
For me it´s very weird that cfx does not have a nicer way of seeing this results...

According to that post: "Start by recording a small session where you load a trn file and export the results"... I have followed this procedure:
1)In post i have defined a new session.
2)start recording
3) loaded the transient results in the file tab.
4)end recording
5)tried to export using the export option in the file tab.
Not working!
