Hello,
does anybody know if it is possible to export user monitor points to a txt file during the run? I have a transient MFR simulation, and would like to write values for each time step to an extra txt file (not binary) during the simulation. I belive it should be possible, because it can be monitored in a graph under user points tab, i just don't know how. Thanks in advance, Matjaz |

It already exists in the file, I think called "mon" in the CFX temp directory where the simulation is running. This file is erased when the run completes and has to be read from the res file with cfx5mondata or something like that.

Hello Guys,
I want to do the smae thing but instead of user define wants to know the U momentum and mass residual. I have found command: "C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v130\CFX\bin\cfx5mondata" -res R67_150k_001.res-varlist "RESIDUAL, RMS, U-Mom; RESIDUAL, RMS, V-Mom" >variables.csv But iot is giving me follwoing error: Exporter error: data::notFound: MonitorDataExporter: ![]() RESIDUAL, RMS, U-Mom RESIDUAL, RMS, V-Mom An error has occurred in cfx5mondata: C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v130\CFX\bin\winnt-amd64\MonitorDataExporter.exe could not be started, or exited with return code 255: . Kindly let me know the right way to get all residuals. Regards,

Do you just want to extract the values of the residuals (maybe monitor points) at each time step (for post processing in Excel or something similar)? Don't worry about those commands, just right click in the monitor window of the solver and select 'Export...'. Gives you a .csv file for you to do what you wish.
Hope I understood the question properly... |
