Hello!

I want to map radiative heat flux (x,y,z,j_rad) on a certain face F of a solid domain S. I do this using Initialise Profile Data function, and the reason for it is that I have a radiative heat flux distribution on the face F calculated in another sofware.

My solid S is totally enclosed by fluid = air. Now: when I map the the external data (Use Profile Data) on the face F, I have a boundary condition defined on F but the Interface between F and fluid domain is lost, i.e. I can not define Interface to model heat transfer from F to air. HOW COULD I SOLVE THIS AND MODEL/DEFINE ALSO INTERFACE?

Any ideas, or am I missing something?

Use a heat source term on the interface boundary. Then you have the normal interface between domains, and can add your defined heat flux where ever you like.

Hi Glenn!

Thanks, it works ... guess you can see I am relatively new to CFX

Regards,
Jerry
