100tinela is on a distinguished road
I am trying to simulate a transient/turbulent two-phase flow (oil mist and gas) through a pipe in ANSYS CFX 13.0 and my goal is to analyse the influence of different oil mass fractions (<5%) on its transient path.
Reading the CFX Help I've seen that the one-phase Lagrangian Particle Tracking method may be the most suited for this case (low mass fraction), but I've also seen that it becomes too expensive to include turbulence models. In this case, does anyone know if a Eulerian-Eulerian method like the "Dispersed fluid" would be viable in terms of grid resolution, computacional effort and results quality?

I would appreciate any help,
Willian

The decision as to use particle tracking or an eularian approach is more about whether you need histories for individual particles. Particle tracking is the only approach which allows you to track particle histories. If the Eularian approach of a control volume average condition is good enough then I would use that.
