I would say don't make a sub-domain, just use a porous domain for that part of your pipe.

Prepare functions for your porosity and loss coefficient as data values in excel or a spreadsheet format (2 columns up to 1000 rows). The first column would be radius, and the second one porosity, or loss coefficient, or whatever other functions you need. You have to save them in Text format in excel.

In Pre go to "User functions" and define your functions by browsing to the text files you created, and also inputting the units.

Go to expression and create new expression. When you define it right click and choose your function you created, then input r in the parentheses meaning it is a function of the radius.

In your porous domain, when you have to enter a value for porosity or whatever. Click on the expression symbol to the right of where you would type it in, then hit right click, go to expressions and choose the expression you made.

You have to make it a porous domain not a fluid domain.
