Hi everyone,

I am a new user for this forum.I'd like to contribute and learn from the good work all of you are doing...

Coming to my problem, I've installed ansys 12 in my windows 7 and it was working fine for about a week. After that when I try to open workbench, there is a fatal error displayed.

Could anyone please suggest a solution for this?...Thanks in advance...

I must say that I have never saw this error...however are you sure that ansys 12.0 is supported by windows 7?

Best Regards

@ Epunk & all who have experienced problems with ANSYS 12.0 or higher in Windows 7.

The first thing u must know is that Windows 7 supports ANSYS 12.0 or higher 100%. I've been using v12.0 ever since I got hold of it & is still working without a single crash. I even run multiple ANSYS windows for various analyzes simultaneously.

Whenever u install any version of ANSYS, make sure u install all the essential prerequisites prior to commencement of the software installation. Another thing is, if u are not at all sure of handling multiple software that run in FlexLM, don't install more than 1 (eg. ANSYS & Hyperworks together may not work some times).

Once installed ANSYS, pl make sure before u start doing analyzes with it, that all de tool platforms like Workbench, Mechanical APDL etc are working. U can run all these from the ANSYS Mechanical Product Launcher. Installing this in Windows is better than any other OS in my opinion. Also prefer installing in non-OS drive of the system if using Windows 7.

Dear prshnt09,

Why would you want to install Ansys in Windows 8? anyways, try installing as administrator and not the local user. If it doesn't work, downgrade your system to Windows 7 and then install. sure it will work in Win7
