Modelling Ocean Waves

Hi all, I am trying to get a discussion going, on modelling Ocean Waves with CFX. How many of us here are at it and what we are doing?
Who here is modelling ocean waves?
Why are you using CFX?
Where are you at with your simulations?

I am using CFX to analyse and optimise a novel ship hull form. It breaks the assumptions required for strip theory for ship design and it breaks the assumptions for potential flow theory.
I have spent just over 6 months carrying out this work, and I am currently fine tuning a two dimensional simulation with the model, with the hope of moving to 3D simulations soon.
I am doing this analysis as part of my postgraduate study and when I have carried of out the CFD sufficiently I hope to carry out a physical test to validate the simulations.
I have reached the stage where the saying “A little knowledge is a dangerous thing” probably applies!
