Create mesh for 1D geometry

Hello,

I'm looking for ways of creating a mesh for a 2D geometry. It's a straight line, the nodes have to be positioned along the x direction and all y-coordinates are zero.

Example: 0 : delx : xend, where delx =0.5, xend = 20.

I have to create the input file in a format that will be compatible for importing in COMSOL.

Any suggestions on how to proceed will be really helpful

You say 1D mesh in your title, but you say 2D in your post. I personally have never heard of someone using a 1D mesh for anything useful. Maybe you have some non zero dimension in the Z direction?

If not, then just find out the kind of input COMSOL accepts and generate the actual data using a simple script or in your case even manually.

Thanks a lot for the response. That was a mistake in the title. I could create the mesh in gmsh.
