Creating Geometry
Hi All
Why calculation start with the following geometry: https://i.imgsafe.org/0a36967.jpg But get in trouble and stopped working with this geometry https://i.imgsafe.org/2435b35.jpg Is creating geometry important in converge? |
Dear Fluent Learner,
The geometry is an important part of running a simulation in CONVERGE. The main consideration is that the geometry must be watertight and clean of all major surface defects. After generating a surface geometry, we recommend using the Diagnosis Dock to determine if there are any major issues with the surface triangulation that could cause to simulation to fail. By default, the major defects that need to be addressed are:
In this situation, I would recommend using the Diagnosis Dock to see if any of these issues are present. If any of these defects occur, they must be fixed before running CONVERGE. Thank you, |
How can i create more reliable and best geometry to import into the CONVERGE?
With which tool? is there any tutorial about that? |
We generally help clients develop best practices with CAD to generate surfaces that are problem free.
Generating a STL that has sufficient triangle resolution is important (you're lower picture looks too coarse). If you could post the problems identified with your geometry using the diagnosis dock, we can make further suggestions. |
