Hello,

Converge simulation is giving below error

WARNING: there may be an alignment error.
The maximum dot product of the motion vector with a non-moving triangle's normal vector is 3.272007e-02.
For properly aligned moving surfaces, this dot_product should be less than 5.0e-4
The boundary type that appears to not be aligned is boundary type 9, and it is attached to boundary 12, which is moving.

boundary 9 is intake port and boundary 12 is intake valve. both are WALL type

there is no mesh errors, but it is giving alignment error? what may be the reason for alignment error?

Hello,

You may get the following error if the alignment between the moving boundary (the intake valve) and the adjacent boundary (the triangles on the port that connect to the valve) is not correct. To fix this, you will need to recreate the triangulation between the valve stem and the valve/port connection.

On our website, www.convergecfd.com, we offer a PDF which outlines how to do this. You can find the presentation on our downloads page: Root > CONVERGE_2.3 > Training_Materials > Internal_Combustion_Engine_Modeling > Slides

The lecture you will want to download is "Session03-Piston_and_Valves.pdf". Please refer to slides 12-18.

Thank you,
