Hi y'all guys!!
I'm using the zeroD chemistry tooln on23 version and i'm curious about the fact I got some critical values for what concern methane autoignition. In particular it comes out that at the same pressure and temperature, the leaner is the mixture and faster is the ignition (on a span from 0.5 to 2 of Equivalent Ratio). Moreover times of autoignition do not match with some relevants papers which work with the same chemical reaction mechanisms!!! Then two easy questions: Have you ever used this tools? Which is your idea about this counterintuitive trend of Equivalent Ratio? Is the ignition time displayed in seconds?? aLL BEST GUYS... |

Hello,
Ignition delay in CONVERGE are reported in seconds and defined in either (flag double_ignition_delay = 0 or 1) of the following two ways, a) time taken to increase the mixture temperature by 400K b) double ignition delay, d2T/dt2 = 0 (T=temperature and t=time) Please make sure the definition used in the relevant papers match one of the above before direct comparison. You may also use the data in ZEROD_#_*.out file to calculate ignition delay that is consistent with the papers you compare. The files ZEROD_#_*.out are written by CONVERGE for each case (#) you have in zero_d_cases and contains the time evolution of temperature, pressure and all the species in the reaction mechanism. |
