Measurement of penetration in an injector

Hi,

I'm studing the external flow of an injector, specifically the penetration. I'm using EnSight to analyze the CFD data.

I was wonderig why the penetration obtained with the .out of CONVERGE is different from that obtained in EnSight.

Is there something I should keep in mind?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Could you give us brief details on how you're going about obtaining spray penetration using ENSIGHT? We would be in a better position to help you then.

Here are a few things to keep in mind : Our manual has a detailed explanation on how we go about calculating penetration lengths. If you haven't already, please make sure the method you're employing in ENSIGHT is similar to ours. Also, I would double check to ensure that you're using the same liquid mass fraction for calculating penetration using ENSIGHT. spray.out will output penetration length for the value of liquid mass fraction ( penet_frac ) provided in spray.in. However, spray_ecn.out has penetration lengths for different liquid mass fractions.

Sincerely,

Srivastava
