Hi,

What should I do to calculate the exact tke and eps at the inflow and outflow of engine?
Based on what computations (hydraulic diameter) did you enter tke and eps in your example (SAGE-pfi)?
In my case, the inlet and outlet are not open to the same conditions.
similarly, how to calculate these values for injector simulation?

Best regards,
Hamed

Hamed,

Typically the turbulence intensity is specified depending on the anticipated turbulence level for your application:
-
High turbulence flow: 0.05 to 0.20
-
Medium turbulence flow: 0.01 to 0.05
-
Low turbulence flow: < 0.01

and a turbulent length scale is also selected, usually 5-10% of the hydraulic diameter. Together, the turbulence intensity and turbulent length scale set k and epsilon at the boundary. Please see the slides from the Boundaries and Boundary Conditions lecture of the CONVERGE introductory training for more details.

Best regards,

Tristan
