Hi all,

I am trying to understand a combustion model in converge. In species.in, it writes:

PASSIVE_NT
CHEM_STIFF non-transport passive name

Could anyone help explain what PASSIVE_NT and CHEM_STIFF mean in this file and how it functions in solving this combustion problem?

Thanks!

Hello Mingyuan,

PASSIVE_NT is a keyword to address a non-transport passive. CHEM_STIFF is one such non-transport passive used to track chemistry stiffness corresponding to each cell. We track the chemistry stiffness to implement an advanced parallelization algorithm based on stiffness of the chemical kinetics (ODE).
