Hello,
My simulation ran till before it had to write the 2nd post.out file. Then It gave error:

mpirun noticed that process rank 12 with PID 25320 on node exited on signal 9 (killed).

I dont understand what process rank 12 is. What could be the reason for this error and how I can correct it?

Thanks
Nitisha

Hi,
Process rank 12 is one of the cpu processors (you must have 12+ of them). Looks like it crashed during post-processing. How many cells do you have and how many cores are you using? Can you try to use less or more cores to see whether this crash repeat?

I have 32 CPUs,
I run my mpirun command with mpirun -n32
No of cores per socket are 8.
There are 2 sockets
Is it possible that writing output file interval can effect the simulation, as when I changed my writing interval from 2 degree to 10 degrees, then the simulation crashed.

Hello, I tried the simulation with less no of CPUs. I used mpirun np-10 as a command. Still I get the same error. And now it happens write at the start of the simulation.

When I run the box spray simulation rather than Engine simulation. I dont get such error till now.

Thanks

Hi, Nitisha,
For your simulation how about email us off-line and we have some one to help you diagnose what the problem is. Thanks.

Hi, I know it is too late. As per the information provided you have 16 CPU (2*8) not 32
