biodiesel in parcel simulation

Hello everyone,

I am working on RCCI combustion with Biodiesel as fuel in CONVERGE CFD 2.3 software. I want to use MD (Methyl Decanoate, C11H22O2) and MD9D(Methyl-9-Decenoate, C11H20O2) as Biodiesel. I have Mech.dat & Therm.dat for MD and MD9D, but I don’t know how I could import them in parcel simulation, because they are not in predefined liquids. So could you help me to solve this issue?

And also how could I access to Liquid.dat file in order to import it in parcel simulation directly?

Good morning!

You can enter any liquid properties you wish in the liquid.dat file. CONVERGE Studio can walk you through the set up of the liquid.dat file under the parcel simulation tab. Generally, you can find properties for most liquids in literature.

If you wish to swap out the liquid.dat file in a simulation all you have to do is replace it in your working directory. If you wish to import a liquid.dat file into a CONVERGE setup in Studio, you need only click the "Import data from liquid.dat" button that looks like a sheet of paper with an arrow on it in the bottom left hand corner of the parcel simulation window.

Please let me know if you have further questions or if I did not give you enough information.

Thanks!

hi again
first of all, thank you for answering, you explain so well. In fact, I have not liquid.dat to import. I want to know who has it or where I can get it.

Certainly. We can check internally if we have the liquid properties in a liquid.dat file here. Could you email us at support@convergecfd.com with this question and reference my name in there?

Thanks!
