Average velocity BC

Hello all,

I'm using an average velocity value as intake and, as stated on Converge's manual, it is substituted by a fully developed profile. I'm wondering: does Converge use a turbulent or a laminar profile? I'm getting maximum velocities near to 24 m/s when using a average velocity of 10 m/s, that is, near 2 times the average velocity. This is a value more related to a laminar flow (and my flow is turbulent).

Thank you,
Filipi

Hello Filipi, thank you for asking about this. This boundary condition uses information from the flow field and does not prescribe a predefined velocity profile. That being said, it can be associated with either laminar or turbulent profile, depending on the problem.
