Dear friends!

I am simulating a charge exchange process in Converge. I would like to have a nice graphics for this in Tecplot and I don't know how to add passive value after combustion. I have an opposed-piston example of two-stroke engine.

I have managed to create it and give values after initialization (intake = 0; exhaust = 1, initialization just before exhaust window opens so value in cylinder also = 1) but I have no idea how to change again value from "0 to 1" in cylinder after combustion to see how the exhaust gases spread along the cylinder.

Could you help me somehow?

Best regards

Hi Hubert,

You can specify different passives for different regions, like INTAKE, CYLINDER and EXHAUST. When initializing, only contain a single passive for that specified region, like CYLINDER for cylinder region. So that these passives can represent the flow from each region.

There’s an example case in CONVERGE Studio v3.0, File -> Load example case -> Internal Combustion Engines -> Two stroke -> Two stroke engine opposed piston transient RANS. There you can find more details about how to set up regions, boundary conditions and initialization.

Best,
